SecondBook is not a no-code side project. It is engineered by someone who spent 12+ years in systems where quality cannot be faked — and that engineering DNA is exactly why the app is built the way it is.

A feature isn’t done until it’s proven in a real user scenario.

An engineering arc where reliability was never optional.

  1. Radio-engineering foundationA formal radio-engineering education underneath everything — the habit of reasoning about a system from first principles.
  2. Aerospace & radar reliabilityTelemetry analysis, anomaly detection and system checks on spacecraft control systems — where a missed defect has real consequences.
  3. Fintech, trading & banking qualityQA and quality leadership across mobile banking, brokerage and trading systems — money-moving flows that have to be right every time.
  4. SecondBookFounder and builder — turning that reliability culture into a book platform, shipped with the same discipline.
Why SecondBook is built this way

The rigor isn’t decoration. Coming from aerospace and fintech, I build SecondBook on the rules those domains demand: one source of truth, one canonical path, controlled fallback instead of dead ends, device-proof before “done”, AI-assisted audit on every change, and UI states that never lie to the user.

I use AI agents not as a toy, but as an engineering operating system — planning, implementation, audit, forensic analysis, release readiness and documentation. AI proposes and accelerates; a human makes the final call.
What I optimise for

Products that work not only in tests, but in real user flows: app → backend → database → object storage → local device state → user-visible result.

Available now

What SecondBook does today.

Everything in this section is live in the app right now — nothing here is a promise.

AssistanceAvailable now

AI that actually helps.

In-app help and support backed by an AI assistant that can even read the photos you attach. It analyses and proposes — a human always stays in control.

  • Ask for help without ever leaving the app.
  • The assistant can read the screenshots and photos you send.
  • AI proposes; people make the final call.
ReadAvailable now

Read almost anything.

The reader is the heart of the app. Open the formats you actually have — books, documents, comics, code — and read them the way you like.

Our promise

Free, private, and built for people.

SecondBook is free to use — and designed to stay that way. No games with your wallet, no ads for your attention, and real care for your data.

Free — no paywall

The core app is free. No subscriptions and no paywall — not now, and not planned.

No ads, ever

We don’t sell your attention. No ads, no ad trackers, no dark patterns.

Your data is yours

Strong privacy and security. Local-first storage, and we never hold your money.

For people, not metrics

Built to be genuinely useful — not to farm engagement or upsell you.

RoadmapWhere it’s going

The book economy, next.

SecondBook’s bigger vision is a full life for every book. The groundwork is built and in testing — we’re opening it step by step, in the open.

Engineering

Built by a human who is accountable for every decision.

SecondBook is not written by bots. One founder — with reliability-engineering discipline — is at the center, owns every decision and answers for it. AI is used the way a good engineer uses power tools: to execute and accelerate the work, never to author it or make the call.

One accountable humanThe founder owns every decision — there is a real, named person to answer for it.
Reliability engineeringAerospace- and fintech-grade discipline: root-cause analysis, one source of truth, controlled fallback instead of dead ends.
AI as instrumentsAI-ops are hands and assistants that execute and accelerate the work — effective tools, never the author or the brain.
Proven, not claimedCI/CD, hard release gates and device-proof on a real phone before anything is called done.

AI is not the final judge — it analyses, proposes and accelerates. A human makes the final decision and is accountable for it.

Guardrails in the pipeline
  • Release gates
  • Route & contract checks
  • Feature-matrix checks
  • Secret scans
  • Feature flags & runtime modes
  • Device-proof discipline
Discipline

We don’t call it done until it’s proven on a real device.

Nothing ships as “done” on a claim alone. We hardened the core reading and library flow through real-device debugging, and every error leaves a trace.

  • Go / no-go release gates before every build.
  • One source of truth for every fact.
  • Controlled fallback instead of dead ends.
  • No false or misleading UI states.
  • Every error leaves a trace we can follow.
The problem

Your books live everywhere except one place.

Files sit in chats, clouds and download folders. Progress resets when you switch phones. You can’t tell what’s really on your device versus in the cloud. And the paper books on your shelf just gather dust.

Book files scattered across chats, clouds and folders.

Reading progress lost the moment you switch devices.

No clear line between what’s downloaded and what’s only in the cloud.

Moving to a new phone means setting everything up again.

Physical books sit unused, with no way to pass them on.

The idea

One entity: the book.

Everything in SecondBook orbits a single thing — a book. Reading, your library, sync, value and discovery are all built around it. Trading is the next orbit.
